James Gosling, the Java programmer, has joined Google. It becomes top news today. What make Gosling join with Google? And why did Google hire Gosling?
Now, Gosling does not actively develop the Java language any more. But, Google see that Gosling is having such intellectual power which helps in attracting talent in Google.
James Gosling was born on May 19, 1955 near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He received a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary in 1977. In 1983, he earned a Ph.D in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Gosling is known as the father of the Java programming language. He created the original design of Java and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine.
Gosling was started with Sun Microsystems in 1984. Then, on April 2, 2010, Gosling left Sun Microsystems which had recently been acquired by the Oracle Corporation.
And the latest news is on March 28, 2011, James Gosling announced on his blog that he had been hired by Google. "Through some odd twists in the road over the past year, and a tardis encountered along the way, I find myself starting employment at Google," posted Gosling on his blog. We will how Gosling works in Google.
