ThinkGeek is an online gadget store for geeky. ThinkGeek is operated by Geeknet Inc. Recently, Geeknet Inc. has hired Jeffrey Drobick, a former eBay executive, as president and CEO of the company’s media division.
Besides the operation of ThinkGeek, Drobick also takes over responsibility for such Geeknet-operated sites as SourceForge.net, which serves developers who work with open source software, and Slashdot.org, billed as a news source for nerds. He replaces Scott Collison, who resigned in March for unspecified reasons.
ThinkGeek is no. 232 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. In February, Geeknet reported that its e-commerce revenue for 2010 increased 55.4% year over year, to $76.3 million from $49.1 million.
ThinkGeek.com has posted a series of gag products on its site sicne 2001. Everything from the World's Largest Remote Control Car, a standard-sized car with its own toy-like remote, to a Monolith Action Figure a la Stanley Kubrick's 2001, and many more.
On April Fool’s Day, one of the products actually exist at least initially. Once customers click on the prices, they find themselves on an April Fool's Day page, a punch-line the company won't ever tire of.
ThinkGeek is a unique online gadget store to visit. So, visit it and look what you can get for your geeky mind!
