Ubuntu 11.04, the latest version of Ubunto OS, launched by Canonical with code name Natty Narwhal yesterday. Ubuntu 11.04 comes with tons of improvements and new Unity interface. Now, Ubuntu 11.04 looks quite different with new Unity, though it still runs over GNOME. Look what Ubuntu 11.04 offers more for us!
Now, Ubuntu 11.04 has a side-bar to complement the file menu. This column displays icons for pinned applications and places arrows next to running programs. You can hide it from view with just a click. But, you’ll love this new side-bar. Ubuntu button at the top left corner now brings up a list of available programs. This feature alone makes Ubuntu 11.04 a lot easier.
The new Unity Workspaces feature in Ubuntu 11.04 is a lot like Spaces by Apple. It lets you create multiple virtual desktops to group different sets of applications together. Even, Ubuntu lets you drag open windows from desktop to desktops.
Ubuntu 11.04 lets users try the operating system without having to install. You can burn the 700 MB image file to a CD or transfer it over to a USB flash drive. Just go to Ubuntu website for detail instructions. So, wanna try Ubuntu 11.04 now?
